Aizu

Celebrating the roots of tradition

It can take nearly 3 hours to get to Western Fukushima, from Tokyo. In the tallest peaks of the prefecture hides the province of Aizu, one of the last strongholds of tradition, even defying the rule of the modern transformation of Japan in the late 1800s. Long ago, Gamo Ujisato, one of the great shogun warriors and a lover of drink, brought the best brewers from around to the city of Wakamatsu. Their descendants are still there. We think it’s time to show it off.
